A construction waste recycling yard in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, once fell into trouble due to dust problems. In the 2,000-square-meter workshop, the crusher processed 500 tons of construction waste every day, and the PM10 concentration often exceeded 800μg/m³, far exceeding the national limit of 4mg/m³. Operators had to replace their dust masks three times a month, and the equipment maintenance frequency was 40% higher than that of similar enterprises. Operators reported that even after long hours of work, the inner side of the mask was no longer covered with dust stains, and breathing became much smoother. The dust accumulation on the surface of the equipment was reduced, and the maintenance cycle was extended from 1 month to 3 months. The number of complaints from surrounding residents dropped to zero, and the environmental protection department gave the evaluation of “dust control demonstration unit” during the re-inspection. Most surprisingly, the aggregate moisture content only increased by 0.3%, which fully met the acceptance standards of the building materials market.​
